ALICE MYRNA BUNKOWSKY (nee HARDER) It is with deep sadness the family announces the passing, after a lengthy illness, of Alice Bunkowsky, on October 6, 1999 at the Foothills Hospital in Calgary. She was predeceased by her beloved husband Elmer in January 1999. Alice leaves to cherish her memory her son Garry Bunkowsky (Yvonne) daughter Pamela Wolovick (Dave) four grandchildren, Nya and Jody Bunkowsky, Daniel and Andrew Wolovick, as well as many nieces and nephews. Alice was born July 6, 1926 in Winnipeg, Manitoba. She spent her early years growing up the youngest of 11 children in Domain. She married her sweetheart, Elmer on October 20, 1944 in Brunkild, Manitoba where they farmed for several years before moving to Winnipeg in 1948. For 25 years Miss Alice was an employee with Sears. She enjoyed playing shuffleboard and bingo at the St. James Legion with her friends. Alice was also a member of Gloria Dei Lutheran Church congregation. For the past eight months Alice had made Calgary her home. Her greatest joy was spending time with her children and grandchildren of whom she was very proud. Her loving ways will be greatly missed by all. Her family would like to thank everyone for their support during this difficult year and would ask that you gather to celebrate her life on Friday, October 22 at 3:00 p.m. at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, 4000 Portage Ave., Winnipeg. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Alices memory to the Canadian Cancer Society, Gloria Dei Lutheran Church Memorial Fund or to the charity of your choice.
