Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryAUREL (SHORTY) LEVESQUE On October 16, 1999, Aurel (Shorty) Levesque, age 62, of Dauphin, MB, passed away at Victoria General Hospital. Shorty will be sadly missed by his beloved wife Joannie (nee Feniuk) daughter Laura, and son Shane. He was predeceased by his parents, Georges and Georgette; an infant sister, his brother Gilles, and his parents-in-law, John and Mary Feniuk. Shorty was born in Monmartre, SK on September 18, 1937. At the age of 17, he began a fulfilling 41 year career with the Provinces Water Resources. After a brief retirement, he returned as an inspector for the Flood of 97. As a dedicated member of St. Viators Knights of Columbus, Shorty was actively involved as a Christmas Toy Project co-ordinator, parade marshall, and chairman for the Arthritis Society. He also enjoyed ice fishing with Joannie and his many friends, curling, golfing, and gardening. Shorty was a devoted husband and father whose generosity and modesty earned the admiration and respect of many people. As per Shortys request, cremation has taken place. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, October 21 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Viators Roman Catholic Church in Dauphin, MB with interment at a later date. Donations may be made to the Oncology Development Fund at Victoria General Hospital in memory of Shorty. The family extends sincere thanks to relatives, friends, and co-workers who came to visit and offered their support during Shortys illness. Special thanks to Dr. Maxwell, Dr. Taraska, Dr. G. Schroeder, and the staff of Unit 5 at Victoria Hospital. Sneath-Strilchuk Funeral Home of Dauphin in care of arrangements.
