MARY FRANCES (MOLLIE) MILN After a courageous battle with cancer, Mother slipped away peacefully in the early morning of October 16 to join her Savior in heaven and reunite with the love of her life, husband Gord, and her beloved mother. Mollie was born in Ireland on March 27, 1899. Early in the century, the family moved to Winnipeg where Mollie and her sister attended St. Marys Academy and Success Business College. Following graduation, she worked as a secretary for CN Rail Passenger Services until her marriage in 1927. Mother was an independent person who always saw the good in others. She was a dedicated mother who made sure her children were raised and educated in a Christian environment. She was a member of St. Ignatius Parish for over 60 years and then St. John Brebeuf Parish after moving from her McMillan Avenue home to a seniors complex on Boulton Bay. Following a broken foot two years ago, Mollie was confined to Grace Hospital, then Deer Lodge Centre, and finally River East Personal Care Home. The family thanks these institutions for their good care. Special thanks are extended to her kind home care workers while she resided in her apartment, to Maria Gawrachynsky and the excellent staff on B wing at River East, and to Father Joseph Johnson, S.J. during mothers final weeks. She was predeceased by her sister, Edna Nesbitt, in 1963, favourite nephew Earl Nesbitt in 1977, husband Gordon in 1984 and a son at birth. Mother will be lovingly remembered by her son Jim (Lorraine) daughter Margaret Miller (Jack) grandchildren, Robert (Andrea), and Brian Miln, Karen (Ryan) Klips; sisters-in-law, Mildred Campbell and Odile Miln, all of Winnipeg; and brother-in-law Bruce Miln of Victoria, B.C. Prayers will be said at 7:30 p.m., Wednesday, October 20, at Thomson Funeral Chapel, with the Rev. Fr. Joseph Driscoll, S.J. officiating. Funeral Mass will be celebrated by the Rev. Fr. Joseph Johnson, S.J. at 1:30 p.m., Thursday, October 21, at St. Ignatius Church, 255 Stafford St.; cremation to follow. Pallbearers will be her grandchildren and great-niece, Kim Hamelin. Flowers gratefully declined. If friends so desire, donations may be made to St. Ignatius Church, 255 Stafford St., Winnipeg, MB R3M 2X2; to St. John Brebeuf Church, 1707 John Brebeuf Place, Winnipeg, MB R3N 2A2; or to a charity of your choice. Arrangements entrusted to Thomson Funeral Chapels. THOMSON FUNERAL CHAPELS 783-7211
