Tom & I were friends when his family lived on Carlaw near Nassau. We went to Lord Roberts for only 2 or 3 years with Jack Hughes and the Penny sisters. We met up again at Churchill High but didn't keep in touch until he was at Crescentwood Community Center in the 80's. My dad had met him when they volunteered in the hockey program together. Tom was busy giving the local MP his opinion on why the railway should not eliminate cabooses. It turned out that he then lived on the same street as my folks, so we had a great conversation about the old days, but that was the last time I saw him. I remember him shooting a rocket from the point at the Winnipeg Arena in a city championship game - I couldn't even raise the puck at the time. Tom was a good friend to have. - Posted by: John Ellis (School friend) on: May 26, 2014
