Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryBERNA MAE ROGERS Peacefully on October 19, 1999 our beloved mum and grandma, Berna Mae Rogers, passed away at the Wawanesa Personal Care Home at the age of 85 years. Berna was predeceased by her husband of 60 years, J.E. (Bub) Rogers in 1996; son-in-law Les Hardy in 1995; brother Guy Green in 1987 and by three childhood siblings. She leaves to mourn her passing her children, Ethel (Ed) Perry of Calgary, Lynda Hardy of Winnipeg, Jim (Gerry) Rogers of Steinbach and Clark Rogers of Brandon; and by 11 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by two sisters, Laura Dewart of Glenboro, Donna Wright of Oliver, BC; by sisters-in-law, Charlotte Rogers of Winnipeg and Ivy Green of Surrey England; as well as several nieces and nephews. Mum was born March 14, 1914 and grew up helping out on the family farm near Wawanesa. She married Dad on November 7, 1936 and they farmed together for 40 years before moving to Wawanesa in 1982. Besides the joy of raising her four children in a beautiful farmyard overlooking the Souris River Valley, Mum enjoyed many hours tending her bountiful gardens. She was the treasurer of the I.O.D.E. for many years and a faithful U.C.W. member. Family was always very special to Mum and we remember great times when she and Dad would have everyone home for one of our family suppers. She loved all of her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, and we will all miss her very much. The family wishes to thank all the staff at the Wawanesa Personal Care Home for the excellent care given to Mum and the kindness shown to our family. At Mums request cremation has taken place. Funeral services will be held in the Wawanesa United Church on Friday, October 22 at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. Margret Kristjansson officiating. Interment to follow in the Wawanesa Cemetery.
