Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryMIKE BATENCHUK, JR. Suddenly, on Tuesday, October 19, 1999, at Poplar River, Mike Batenchuk, Jr. passed away at the age of 59 years. Mike was born at Berens River on August 17, 1940 living at Big Black River where he spent most of his life as a commercial fisherman. For the past eight years he had resided at Poplar River. He leaves to cherish his beautiful memory his beloved wife Mary; daughters, Vicki (Doug), Sandra (Norbert), Josephine (Lindsay), Jane (Randy) and Carol, sons, Reggie (Karen) and Howard (Eliza) his parents, Mike and Mary; 27 grandchildren; one great-grandchild; brothers, Louis (Jerry), and Donald (Virginia), and sisters, Jane and Bernadette (Phillip). There are numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. He was predeceased by his brothers, Lloyd and Joey and sister Lena. Wake services were held on Tuesday, October 19 and Wednesday, October 20 at the residence of Mike Batenchuk Jr., Poplar River. Funeral service will be held on Thursday, October 21 at 2:00 p.m. at the Poplar River Community Church, Poplar River, MB with Fr. Rheal officiating. Interment to follow at Poplar River Cemetery.
