Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryJAMES CHAMPION WILKES Peacefully at the Rehabilitation Centre in Winnipeg on October 18, 1999. Born on the farm at Marquette on October 1, 1909, Jim lived there until attending Agricultural College in Winnipeg. From 1935 - 1938 he was employed at Alert Bay, B.C., where he met Ethel, whom he married September 3, 1938. They lived on the farm at Poplar Heights for 28 years where they raised their family and then moved to Winnipeg in 1966 where he was employed at Federated Co-op and later Knowles School for Boys. Predeceased by his grandson Todd in October of 1989. He is survived by his wife Ethel; sons, David, Gordon (Valerie), Norman (Silvia) daughter Vivian (Murray) Cook; grandchildren, Paula (David Sitarik), Lynn (Brad Sokalski), Shelley (friend Frank Hauser), Erin (Guy Nault), Heather, Keith, Nicholas, Andrew, Brent and Lori; and four great-grandchildren, Ashley and Cameron Sokalski and Reed and Bryn Sitarik; as well as extended family Audrey and Jlee Hogg. Also survived by his two sisters, Katherine Weiermann and Marion Robertson; as well as several nieces and nephews. He will always be remembered by family and friends for his sense of humour right to the end, his strong faith and gentle nature. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation, 301-352 Donald St., Winnipeg, MB R3B 2H8; Kidney Foundation, 200-55 Donald St., Winnipeg, MB R3C 1L8; or the charity of ones choice. Interment of ashes will take place at Chapel Lawn Memorial Gardens, 4000 Portage Ave., Friday, October 22 at 10:00 a.m., with the memorial service following at McClure United Church, 533 Greenwood Place, at 2:00 p.m. Arrangements entrusted to: CHAPEL LAWN FUNERAL HOME CEMETERY AND CREMATORIUM 885-9715
