Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryVERA (JUDY) CHAPMAN Peacefully, on October 9, 1999, at 93 years of age, Judy, as she was known to her many relatives and friends, passed away. Formerly of Lindsay St. in Winnipeg and lately of the Middlechurch Home, Judy leaves many nieces and nephews to cherish her memory. Judy was predeceased by her loving husband Joseph Chapman in 1973; her brothers and sisters, Bob and Jim Dalrymple of Horton, Les of Elie, Mary Ludgate of Boissevain and Margaret Gurney of Winnipeg. Judy was also predeceased by her first husband Duncan Fletcher, who sadly died in the first year of their marriage. Judy was born in a log house near Horton, Manitoba in 1906. She attended Desford School. After completing her training in nursing at the Winnipeg General Hospital in 1930, Judy became a member of the Victorian Order of Nurses and provided care to many Winnipegers in their homes. Judy was very active in St. Stephens Broadway United Church for most of her life. She and many of her friends enjoyed their weekly bridge games and dinners. Judy was an active gardener and famous for her preserves. Sharon and David Gurney would like to thank the staff of the Middlechurch Home of Winnipeg for all their care and kindness while Judy was a resident there. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The Middlechurch Home, 280 Balderstone Rd., West St. Paul, MB R4A 4A6. A Memorial Service celebrating Judys life will be held Monday, October 25, 2:00 p.m. at Broadway Disciples United Church (formerly St. Stephens), 396 Broadway at Kennedy.
