ELVIRA (VERA) REID The family of Vera Reid regret to announce that their Mom and Gram passed away on October 16, 1999 at the Selkirk General Hospital. Left to cherish her memory are her four children, Bonnie Brisbin of Langley, BC, Lynne (Dick) Bryll of Selkirk, Cameron (Laurean) Reid of Sechelt, BC and Dennis (Kim) of Val Marie, SK; also ten grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her sister Marjorie; granddaughter Mandy Reid; son-in-law Brian Brisbin and her husband and soul-mate Arnold Reid who died in 1983. Vera lived most of her life in Kenora, ON. In 1986 she relocated to Selkirk and began her new life with enthusiasm when she moved into her granny flat at Lynne and Dicks. She had a great zest for life and enjoyed many things; feeding the birds, knitting for her children and grandchildren and travelling to California and BC to visit her family. Vera faced the daily challenges of life with a smile. She was a courageous, caring person and to know her, was to love her. The next period of her life, was her move to Betel Home in Selkirk. She took an active part in the daily events and activities there. Vera truly appreciated her new friends and the care and support of the staff at Betel Home. An informal service will be held on Wednesday, October 27 at the Betel Home in Selkirk at 2:00 p.m. with Pastor Deborah Moroz officiating. Funeral services will be held on November 12 in Kenora, ON. Vera and Arnold are together again. His favourite expression, "Me and you, You and me, Thats the way it will always be, kid." is now complete. If friends so desire, donations may be made to a charity of ones choice. Gilbart Funeral Home, Selkirk in care of arrangements.
