MARY UCHACZ After a lengthy illness, we announce with great sorrow the passing of our beloved mother, grandmother and great-grandmother on Thursday, October 21, 1999. Mom was predeceased by her husband Michael in January, 1986. She will be lovingly remembered by her daughters, Olga Skehar and husband Boris, Jenny Blahuta and husband Lawrence, Elizabeth Evans and husband Bill; grandchildren, Glenn Skehar and wife Nancy, Mary-Anne Skehar, Michael Blahuta, Andrew Blahuta and wife Sheryl, Jason Blahuta, Lisa Wilkinson and husband Scott, Doug Evans and great-grandchildren, Kyle and Brittany Blahuta. Mom was born in Poland and came to Canada as a young lady. She settled in Winnipeg, where she later met and married Michael, sharing 51 years of marriage. Mom was a life-long parishioner of Holy Ghost Church and a member of the Rosary Sodality. "Little" Baba was a loving, caring mother, grandmother and great-grandmother who put her family needs ahead of hers. She will be remembered for her tremendous spirit, courage, kindness and generosity. One of Moms many joys was cooking for her family and friends, who enjoyed her pies, holopchi and perogies. Anyone who ever visited Mom left with some of her baking. She worked very hard to maintain her home of which she was very proud. Even during her illness she maintained incredible independence and unwaivering faith. Prayers will be said on Sunday, October 24 at 7:00 p.m. at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main Street. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, October 25 at 10:00 a.m. at Holy Ghost Roman Catholic Church, 341 Selkirk Avenue with Rev. Fr. Wladek Karciarz, O.M.I. officiating. Interment will follow in All Saints Cemetery. "God Grant Her Eternal Rest" Cropo Funeral Chapel in care of arrangements, 586-8044.
