Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryKATHLEEN ETHEL VELLOW (nee REEVES, McINNIS) Peacefully on Tuesday, October 19, 1999 at the Grace Hospital after a lengthy illness, with her family by her side. Kay was born on August 11, 1914 in Winnipeg. She was predeceased by her parents, Ernest and Ethel Reeves. Kay will be lovingly remembered by her husband of 32 years, Theodore (Ted) daughters, Donna Peltier (Tom Zanzow), Carol Hawkins (Brian) grandchildren, Suzanne DiLazzaro (Mark), Michelle Bales (Dave), Stephen Peltier (Doreen), Michael, Lisa, Travis, Cary Hawkins; and seven great-grandchildren. She also leaves her sister Dorothy Langridge (Ken) and family; also numerous other relatives and friends. Kay worked for the Winnipeg School Division No. 1 for 23 years. She was a Founding President, (1952), Past Noble Grand and Past District Deputy of the Rebekah Lodge Charleswood Branch. Until her illness she, had been an active member of the Charleswood Legion 100 for many years, also Past President of the Ladies Auxiliary. Mom loved her family around her and fought her illness bravely and with dignity right to the end. She has inspired all of us. Kay was an avid green thumb with her plants and collector of knick-knacks. Special and sincere thanks for the wonderful, compassionate care and concern of the nurses and staff on 4 west, Grace Hospital, Palliative Care Unit, also to Drs. Harris and Lawrence. Funeral service will be held 3:00 p.m., Monday, October 25 at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, 4000 Portage Ave. Interment will follow in Chapel Lawn Memorial Gardens. A gathering of family and friends will be held in Chapel Lawn Reception Centre. In lieu of flowers, donations in Kays memory may be made to the Grace Hospital Palliative Care, 300 Booth Dr., Winnipeg, MB R3J 3M7 or to the Cancer Society, 193 Sherbrook Street, Winnipeg, MB R3C 2B7.
