Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryALAN BANCROFT WILSON Peacefully our father passed away on Wednesday, October 20, 1999. He was born on March 22, 1933, in the town of Whitley Bay, England. He was a "Geordie". He was predeceased by our mother Dora Ellen and his brothers, Eddy and Ken. Left to mourn are two sisters, Jean and Edna; children, Maureen (Blaine) McVety, Alan (Karen) Wilson; grandchildren, Christina Ellen, Dora Ashley, John Edward Alan (Jr.), Adrienne Marie and many nephews, nieces, friends and other family members. He immigrated to Canada in 1961, with his young family to reside in Brandon. He was then employed as a cabinet maker. An active member in the Brandon Salvation Army, President of the John Howard Society and a Gideon. He counselled troubled men and young people. Suffering his first heart attack in 1973, which caused him to sell his business Zircon Cabinets. Attending U of B as a mature student, he earned his B.A. and B.E.D. His loving wife Doris, died of cancer in 1978. Devastated by her death, he started a career in Pilot Mound/Crystal City as a teacher, meeting Geraldine Webb, who became a life long companion. They enjoyed each other over the last couple decades. He endured 2 by-pass operations. He will always be loved and remembered as a friend, father and grandfather. Good-bye Dad!
