Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryGOERGE (JERZY) BOREK Peacefully, with his family by his side, George (Jerzy) Borek passed away on October 22, 1999 at the Holy Family Nursing Home. George leaves to mourn his passing his beloved wife of 49 years, Maria; three daughters, Edith (Tom) Parent, Irene (Derek) Brandt, Lisa (Ken) Mallette; seven grandchildren, Andrea and Erin Parent, Kevin and Corey Brandt, Jeremy, Carson and Kylie Mallette. George is also survived by his brother Dmyitro (Anna) of Winnipeg, John and sister Anne of the Ukraine, nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his sisters, Katherine Turko, Maria Nowicki and brother Nick. George was born April 18, 1923 in the province of Lubin in Poland. He immigrated to Canada in 1952 to make a better life for his wife and baby daughter. He was employed with CPR until his retirement in 1988. George was a hard worker and tried to provide for his family all the things he had done without. An avid gardener, he loved spending time tending his garden and flowers. He was very proud of his family and the accomplishments of his grandchildren. The family wishes to thank the staff of Holy Family Nursing Home where George had been a resident for the last six years. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, October 25 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Josephs Roman Catholic Church, 355 Andrews St. Interment to follow at All Saints Cemetery. Viewing one hour prior to church service. It breaks our heart to lose you But you did not go alone For part of us went with you The day that God called you home Though your smile is gone forever And your hand we cannot touch We will always have the memories Of the one we loved so much Rest in Peace, Beloved husband, father and grandfather.
