Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryCHRISTINE WOCKS It is with great sorrow that we announce the sudden passing of Christine Wocks on October 20, 199. She was predeceased by her father Henry in 1934, her mother Anne in 1954, her husband Charlie in 1958, her brother Jack in 1994 and her step-sister Catherine. Christine was born on February 24, 1904 in Lemburg, Saskatchewan, the oldest of five children. She attended Rocky Dale School and at a young age she left the family farm near Jedbourgh, Saskatchewan to move to Winnipeg. She was employed with the Health Sciences Centre as a dietary aide and then as an assistant in a hair salon. In 1935, Christine married Charlie Wocks and together they travelled throughout Europe, the Caribbean and the United States. Christines daily routine included meeting her many friends for lunch at Eatons, a habit she retained for many years. She is survived by her two sisters, Marion Moreau and June Pouline, as well as three nephews, Jack (Cathy) Young, Robert (Jean) Young and Len (Jacquie) Young and numerous nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held Sunday, October 24, from 3:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, 4000 Portage Ave. A celebration of Christines life will be held at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home on Monday, October 25 at 12:30 p.m. with Pastor Bruce Martin officiating, viewing one hour prior to service time. Interment will follow in Chapel Lawn Memorial Gardens, with a gathering of family and friends to follow in the Chapel Lawn Reception Centre.
