SARAH GABRIELLE FLEURY Peacefully, after a brief illness with cancer, Sarah Gabrielle Fleury, aged 41 years, with her baby, Anne Marie Angele (stillborn October 5, 1999), passed away in the Birtle Hospital on October 7, 1999. Sarah was born July 13, 1958 in Russell, Manitoba to Denis and Hortense Fouillard, the fifth of thirteen children. At the age of 16, Sarah graduated from Birtle Collegiate. After fulfilling an active life at different jobs, she opened a private accounting business in St. Lazare known as S.G. Fleury & Associates. Sarah was involved with many different committees such as Manitoba Health Services Council, Minor Hockey, Athletic Association, five different school committees, The Ride for Hope and many others. Sarah was noted for her appealing smile and outgoing personality which charmed and won her numerous friends. On September 24, 1977 Sarah married Larry Fleury of Beulah, Manitoba. Born to them were Leontine (March 31, 1979), Michelle (January 27, 1981), Joel (February 24, 1984), Gaetan (December 14, 1985), Onalie (March 12, 1988), Celeste (August 18, 1991). Sarah is survived by her husband of 22 years, Larry; daughters, Michelle, Onalie, Celeste and son Joel; her mother Hortense and father Denis; eight brothers and three sisters; grandmother Aldea Fillion; numerous nieces and nephews; in-laws, relatives and friends. She was predeceased by three of her children, Leontine (July 17, 1988), Gaetan (August 9, 1994) both of cystic fibrosis and Anne Marie Angele (October 5, 1999 - stillborn) and her sister Leontine (December 31, 1968). The family would like to express their thanks to Dr. Taylor, Dr. Wong, the nursing staff and the pastoral care unit at the St. Boniface Hospital; Dr. Uys and nursing staff of the Birtle Hospital for their kindness and generous care over the past three months. Also, thank you to all the friends and family who supported us through visits, words of encouragement, cards, flowers, food, mass offerings and numerous donations. Your thoughtfulness and kindness will never be forgotten. A special thank you to Perry Bulbuck and David Klassen of Braendle-Bruce Funeral Service for the generous and beautiful arrangement as well as their support and encouragement during this difficult time. If friends so desire, donations may be made to the Canadian Cystic Fibrosis Foundation. Funeral services were held on October 11 at 10:00 a.m. at the St. Lazare Roman Catholic Church with Father Paul Tinguely, Father Wayne Morrissey and Deacon Conrad Plante officiating with interment at the St. Lazare Cemetery. Pallbearers were: Martin Fouillard, Alain Lemoine, Ben Decorby, Jacques Fouillard, Philip Reid and Darryle Fleury.
