IRENE (LESZCZYNSKI) LESLEY 1934 - 1999 It is with deep sadness the family wishes to announce the passing of Irene after a courageous fight with cancer at Concordia Hospital on October 22, 1999 with her family by her side. Irene graduated from Isaac Newton in 1952 and was very involved in sports from winning her Letters at High School, to playing baseball for C.P.A.C. Senior B, Ramblers shortstop for the Senior Ladies League, played basketball for the Dominos and represented Manitoba for Western Canada, was Yo Yo champion for Manitoba, won many awards for 10 pin bowling, enjoyed golf and ended her sports career as a member of the St. Johns Lawn Bowling Club. She represented Manitoba for the M.S.O.S. in Regina and Medicine Hat and won many medals. Irene showed her strength and courage when this past summer she was ill and still managed to represent Manitoba on a National Level in Regina for Senior Triples Lawn Bowling. She also enjoyed playing family games. Irene was employed with Canadian Airlines from 1959 until her retirement in 1994. She was one of the original employees when Canadian Airlines opened their reservation office in Winnipeg, firstly as a reservation clerk and then as a passenger agent. Irene loved travelling and visited all over the world with her family and friends. Irene will be lovingly remembered and sadly missed by her sister Wanda (Louie) Perozik; nieces and nephews who considered their aunt their second mother and best friend, Elizabeth and Michelle Neault, Tracey and Kristen Perozik, Chrissy Block, Bob (Lynn) Neault, Gilbert (Wendy) Neault and her two special dogs Daisy and Toby.
