RONALD ANDREW MacINTOSH It is with deep sorrow that the family announces the sudden passing of Ronald Andrew MacIntosh on Friday, October 22, 1999 at the age of 73 years. Ron was predeceased by his parents Fergus and Nell; brothers, Fergus and Chick and daughter Sandra. Ron is survived by his loving wife of 53 years, Helen; his sons, Ron II (Tammy), Laurie (Lynda), Ted (Pat) and Gary (Maxine) grandchildren Ron III (Angie), Scott, Shauna-Lyn, Kerry, Andrea, Ian, Kirsten and Garrett. Ron was born in Winnipeg and attended Luxton School, St. Johns High School, United College and the University of Manitoba, where he obtained his B.Sc., B.Ed. and Masters of Education. His career as an educator began in 1949 at Assiniboine School. He held numerous positions in the St. James Assiniboia School Division including teacher, Vice Principal, Principal and Superintendant of Schools. He retired in 1982 as Deputy Minister of Education for the Province of Manitoba. Ron was active on the Grace Hospital Board, Canadian Executive Services Organization, St. Andrews Society of Winnipeg, Kiwanis Club of St. James and the St. James Presbyterian Church. He enjoyed his simmers at Victoria Beach sailing his boat and picking blueberries. Teeing off for a game of golf at Breezy Bend or in Florida was equally important. He was especially looking forward to his annual hunting trip with his family, for which he was currently planning. Ron touched and influenced many lives and exemplified hard work and commitment to the community. He was an unselfish and caring individual. Cremation has taken place and a celebration of life with Rev. Beth McCutcheon officiating will be held on Saturday, October 30 at 11:00 a.m. at St. James Presbyterian Church, 1476 Portage Avenue In lieu of flowers, if friends so desire, donations in Rons memory may be made to St. James Presbyterian Church, or the Grace General Hospital Foundation.
