ALVA COUMONT Peacefully, on October 23, 1999 at the Red River Place in Selkirk, Alva Coumont, aged 83 years, of Selkirk, wife of the late Henry Coumont. Alva was born on March 13, 1916 to the late Flora and John Swain. She leaves to mourn and will be sadly missed by her daughters Elaine (Mel) Tichbourne and Cathy (Dave) Coumont; five sons, Allan (Selma) and Keith (Gloria) and living in B.C. Howard (Lorraine), Brian (Gunda) and Raymond (Doris) three brothers Calvin, Russell and Gordon Swain; her one sister and greatest friend, Lillian McDonald (Vincent), God Bless you Aunty; also her 19 grandchildren, five great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. Mom was predeceased by her husband Henry in 1986 and oldest daughter Arlene in 1993. Mom was a happy, lovable lady, well liked by all who knew her. She loved her garage sales, gardening, bingo and kept up on world affairs by reading. Her grandchildren and great grandchildren were her greatest joy. A Service of Remembrance will be held on Wednesday, October 27 at 1:30 p.m. in the Gilbart Funeral Chapel, Selkirk with Rev. Peter Cain officiating. The family wishes to thank the staff at Red River Place for their care and compassion given to Alva for the past year and a half. MOM Mother and gramma you guided us through life may God guide you now. Youre gone but will never be forgotten We will love you always and forever May all three of you guide us now.
