ROSE MCFARLANE (nee WLASIUK) Peacefully on Sunday, October 24, 1999 at the age of 84, Rose McFarlane passed away at the River East Personal Care Home. She leaves to mourn nieces, Sonja Bejzyk, Darcy Zemianski, Olivia Stadnyk; nephew Del Stadnyk; great nieces, Tammy Kochanski and Tanya Zemianski; as well as her devoted friends, Lorna and Bob Bruce. She was predeceased by her husband Danny and her two sisters, Mary Mandziuk and Millie Stadnyk. After completing business school in Winnipeg, Rose was first employed at the Unemployment Insurance Commission. Throughout the majority of her life, she was active in the restaurant business. For over 25 years, she made her home on Bank Avenue in St. Vital developing many long lasting neighbourhood friends. At the age of 75, she realized her life long dream of moving into a new custom built home. In 1993, she became a resident at the River East Personal Care Home. Her passions included berry picking near the cabin at Jessica Lake, shopping for the elusive bargain and playing a competitive game of cards. Her kindness and love for animals was a consistent thread throughout her life. We will always remember our Aunty Rose for her delicious pies, perogies and cabbage rolls. The family wishes to express their gratitude to the Unit 1 and dining room staff at the River East Personal Care Home.
