GWENDOLYN AUGUSTA SIGURDSON On October 22, 1999 at the Morden District General Hospital, Gwen Sigurdson, aged 78 years, late of Emerson and formerly of Selkirk, wife of the late Sigurdur Sigurdson. Gwen was born in Selkirk on March 1, 1921, daughter of the late Magnus and Patricia Ausmundson. She also lived in Winnipegosis and Winnipeg before moving back to Selkirk. She was very artistic and enjoyed painting, crafts, needlework and pottery. She had been a member of the OORP in Winnipegosis and the Knox Church and Legion Ladies Aux. in Selkirk. She also volunteered her time at Betel helping the seniors doing crafts. Gwen was predeceased by her husband Sigurdur in 1987 and two brothers, Richard and Clayton. She leaves surviving three sons, Thor (Marvis) of Emerson, Konrad of Ottawa and Richard of Gillam; a daughter Kathy of Thompson; a sister Ellen Anderson of BC; ten grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. Friends and family may call for viewing on Wednesday evening, October 27 from 7:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Gilbart Funeral Chapel, Selkirk. Cremation will follow and a memorial service will be held on Thursday, October 28 at 2:00 p.m. in the Gilbart Funeral Chapel. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Gwens name to the Heart and Stroke Foundation, 301 - 352 Donald St., Winnipeg, MB, R3R 2H8.
