OLIVER GAUDRY Mr. Oliver (Joseph Xavier Ovila) Gaudry, age 90 years, of Donwood Manor, Winnipeg, passed away peacefully at his residence on October 18, 1999. Oliver was born in St. Pierre, Manitoba on February 3, 1909. He and his wife Ellen worked and raised six children in the Rainy River district and Minaki area. They moved to Thunder Bay in 1965 and to Winnipeg in 1991. Oliver enjoyed spending time outdoors, working with wood, and card playing, but especially enjoyed spending time playing with his grandchildren. Oliver is survived by wife Ellen; two daughters, Joy (Ray) an Gail (Danny), all of Winnipeg; two sons, Jack (Susan) of Thunder Bay and Keith of Saskatchewan. He is also survived by numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren. Oliver will be greatly missed by all. Oliver was predeceased by his two sons, Wayne (1995) and Gordon (1997). Cremation has taken place in Winnipeg and a memorial service was held on Saturday, October 23 at 11:00 a.m. in the Chapel of Harbourview Funeral Centre, 499 North Cumberland St., officiated by Rev. Lloyd Ivany. Interment will take place in Riverside Cemetery at a later date.
