GEORGE ELLIOTT STEVENSON Dad passed away peacefully into the arms of his god and with the love of his family at the Grace Hospital on Friday, October 22, 1999. Dad will be forever remembered with love and happiness by his wife Gladys of 58 years; his daughter Helen and three sons, Lewis (Dale), Kenny (Janet), Greg (Jeff). His five grandchildren will also miss Dad, Sandra, Spencer, Kimberly, Cheryl and Kenny JR. and three great-grandchildren, Jesse, Cassandra and Shawn. Many other relations will also miss Dad, but he will be in their thoughts. The family wishes to express their heartfelt thanks to all the staff at Grace Hospital who helped Dad through his last days. Dad was born on July 18, 1920 in Stafford, England. Dad came to Canada with his family two months after he was born and settled in Quebec where he grew up and married Gladys Lillian Lewis on August 30, 1941. After a few moves and four children, they finally settled here in Winnipeg, MB. In his last 25 years here in Winnipeg, Dad made many friends through his work, church and politics. He was always active in his life and always had a kind word or a joke to make people happy. Cremation has taken place and there will be no service in accordance with Dads wishes.
