CYRIL HENRY (ANDREI) HOLUNGA On Sunday, October 24, 1999, after a lengthy hard fought battle with cancer, Cyril, dearly loved husband of Gerry passed away. Cyril will be lovingly remembered and sadly missed by his three daughters, Deborah and Murray, Denise and Shayne and Donna and Tim; four grandchildren, Rachel, Sara, Tyler and Jenna. Cyril also leaves to mourn his passing, his father Nestor; brothers, Willis (Adele) and Wayne and sisters, Constance and Bonita. Cyril was born on December 3, 1941 to Nestor and Sadie (Onofriechuk) Holunga. He was raised and educated in Inglis, Man. In 1959, he moved to Winnipeg where he was employed with J.S. Quinn Construction until 1972. At this time he became self-employed in the trucking industry. Most recently he was contracted to Manitoba Hydro in Gillam region in Manitoba. Cyril met and married Geraldine Jerema 36 years ago and they raised their three children in West St. Paul. Cyril enjoyed his garden, planting trees in his yard and helping his neighbours with snow clearing etc. Cyril was a kind and generous man. Prayers will be said on Wednesday, October 27, at 7:00 p.m. at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main Street. Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, October 28 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Demetrios Romanian Orthodox Church, 103 Furby Street with Rev. Fr. Victor Malanca officiating. Interment will follow in Glen Eden Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers will be Tom Holunga, Tim Holunga, Brian Onofriechuk, Ken Jerema, Pete Jerema and Grant Schick. Honorary pallbearers will be Leon and Marion, Brian and Valerie, Benny and Alice, Ken and Hilda and Roger. We also give our thanks and gratitude to Diane, Dorothy and the others on E3 for the loving care that Cyril received at Riverview Health Centre. If so desired, donations may be made in Cyrils memory to the St. Demetrios Romanian Orthodox Church Building Fund, 103 Furby St., Winnipeg, R3C 2A4.
