Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryLAURETTE DESROCHERS After a lengthy battle with cancer and with her family by her side, Laurette Desrochers passed away peacefully at Red Deer Regional Hospital on October 20, 1999. Laurette was the first child born to Edgar and Rachel Van De Kerckhove on August 15, 1943 in Swan Lake, MB. She attended school in Treherne, Baldur and Belmont. In 1962 she married Armand Desrochers. They lived in Winnipeg until 1971. During the years in Winnipeg Laurette worked at Eatons, Motorways and at the airport. In 1963 their first son Paul was born. Rodney was born 1965. In 1971 the family moved to Kamloops, BC where Kevin was born in 1974. Laurette worked for many years in the restaurant business. In 1994 Armand built her a beautiful home in Anglemont, BC on the Shuswap Lake. Laurette continued to work part time until a re-occurence of cancer. In 1998 Laurette and Armand moved to Red Deer. Laurette was a devoted wife and mother. Her granchildren were the light of her life. She will be remembered for her fun loving and gentle nature. Always giving of herself. Even during her most trying times Laurette refused to be a burden. She chose to live her life to the fullest. We love you and miss you Laurette. She is survived by her loving husband Armand and her three sons, Paul, Rodney and Kevin. She also leaves behind her cherished grandchildren, Cayleb, Montana, Trent and Devin. Laurette is also survived by her mother Rachel Campbell; her brothers, Douglas (Dorthy) Van De Kerckhove and Walter Morand, her sisters, Gail (Greg) Wanless and Valerie (Ed) Lowton; as well as many nieces and nephews. Laurette is predeceased by her father Edgar in 1965; her sisters, Velma in 1973 and Jeanette in 1989 and her stepfather Alex Campbell in 1995. Relatives and friends are invited to prayers at Eventide Funeral Chapels on Friday, October 22 at 7:30 p.m. with The Rev. Seifert presiding. Funeral mass will be celebrated by Fr. Patrick Morand at St. Vital Church, 1629 Pembina Hwy., Winnipeg, MB, Friday, October 29 at 10:30 a.m. Arrangements and cremation in care of Eventide Funeral Chapels, 4820 - 45th St., Red Deer; phone 403-347-2222.
