He was predeceased by his parents Gisli and Olof Goodman; his 7 brothers and sisters and his grandson Andrew. He is survived by his wife Shirley; children, Bev (Bill Payne), Pat (Chuck Crocker), Tom (Sonia) and Gord (Marian) as well as grandchildren, Peter, Erin, Eric, Clifford and Elizabeth. He was born February 2, 1911 in Winnipeg. He spent his early years there and moved to Flin Flon during the Depression to find work. After completing High School through night classes in Flin Flon, he enrolled in the University of British Columbia where he graduated with a degree in Metallurgic Engineering. He returned to Flin Flon and continued his career with Hudson Bay Mining and Smeltin. He was active in many and various community organizations and activities including curling, golf, tennis and basketball. He was a member of the Rotary Club, Masons and the Lutheran Church in Flin Flon. Throughout his life he took great joy in music and shared this joy through participating in many choirs and particularly in the Flin Flon Glee Club, the Lutheran Church Choir and the Barber Polecats. He particularly enjoyed his summers with his family at the cottage at Beaver Lake, Saskatchewan where he taught children, grandchildren and pets to swim. In recent years, he divided his time between the cottage and his home in Winnipeg. In the city he was active in the Sturgeon Creek United Church Choir, the Bison Mens chorus and the Granite Curling Club. Memorial Service will be held on Thursday, October 28 at the Sturgeon Creek United Church, 207 Thompson Drive at 2:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the charity of ones choice.
