GEORGE (PAPA) PLEWS On October 17, 1999 George, beloved husband of Mildred (Peggy) Plews passed away peacefully at Riverview Health Centre. George was born in England in 1915. After serving in the Royal Air Force during the Second World War, he immigrated to Canada in 1948, where he started with Manitoba Hydro, retiring after 29 years of enjoyable service. George was predeceased by his two brothers, Ernest and John and his sister Florence. George is survived by his beloved wife of 59 years, Peggy; children, David (Lia), Jean (Morris), and Don (Ardell). He also leaves to cherish his memory his grandchildren, Stacey (Russ), Michael, Nicholas, and Shaleen, and great-granddaughter Flynn. The family wishes to thank the staff of Riverview Health Centre for all their kindness and care given to Dad during his stay. Cremation has taken place. A family service was held at Green Acres Funeral Chapel. If friends so desire, donations may be made in Georges memory to the Riverview Health Centre Foundation, 1 Morley Ave., Winnipeg, MB R3L 2P4.
