IRENE ZERBIN (MITCHELL)

Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryIRENE ZERBIN (nee MITCHELL) Peacefully, on October 25, 1999 at River East Personal Care Home, Irene Zerbin passed away at the age of 93. Irene is survived by her three children, Arline Christopherson (Norv), Diane Boriskewich (Steve) and Ray Zerbin (Marie) eight grandchildren and ten great grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband Gus in 1981 and her brother Gordon. Before her marriage in 1932 she taught school at Edrans and Valley Stream, re-entering the teaching profession after her family was grown and taught at Cooks Creek and South Transcona. Irene was an active member of Oak Bank United Church and the U.C.W. She was also an active member of the Silver Threads at Kin Place. Music was an important part of Irenes life. She was an accomplished pianist and accompanist. Irene and Gus spent many evenings playing piano and violin. She was a master of one liners and her quick wit brought many a chuckle. Cremation has taken place. A Memorial Service in Irenes memory will be held on Friday, October 29 at 2:00 p.m. from Green Acres Funeral Chapel, Hwy. #1 East at Navin Road, with Rev. Dawn Ballantine-Dickson officiating. Special thanks to the staff at River East Personal Care Home for their loving care and kindness to Honeybunch. Also a sincere thank you to Stella, whose many acts of thoughtfulness are appreciated by the family.
