KATE HELEN FARBIAK Kate Helen Farbiak, nee Chonstkewich passed away peacefully at Donwood Personal Care Home, with her family by her side. Predeceased by her husband John on December 10, 1958; sisters, Nellie, Mary, Victoria and Sophie; brothers, Joe and Henry, and grandson Darcy. Left to cherish her memory are her children, Marion (Steve) Kotz, Diana (Al) Godfrey, Ed (Allison) and Carol Kitzul; numerous grandchildren and brother Frank (Doris) Chonstke and many nieces and nephews. Mom was born in Melrose (Cooks Creek), MB on August 27, 1911. She moved to Winnipeg at an early age and worked as a maid to help support the family on the farm. She remained in Winnipeg the balance of her life, where she married and raised her children. Moms greatest source of pride, besides her children, was cleaning for her ladies and the office, which she continued serving until past the age of 75. Mom was a kind and generous person and loved by many. She got the greatest pleasure from lifes simplest things. Wed like to thank the nurses at Concordia Hospital where Mom spent many months prior to her residence at Donwood Personal Care Home. The family would like to give special thanks to the staff and volunteers at Donwood and Dr. Dirks for the exceptional care given to Mom during her time there. Mom appreciated their T.L.C. and often remarked How good they are to me here. Memorial service to be held at Winnipeg Christian Centre, 230 Provencher St. on Sunday, October 31 at 3:00 p.m. Reverend Jake Bergen officiating. Cremation has taken place. Interment at Elmwood Cemetery. Arrangements entrusted to: VOYAGE FUNERAL HOME 668-3151
