Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryOLGA (OLLIE) BASARABA It is with deep regret and sadness that we announce the death of Olga Ollie Basaraba on Tuesday, October 26, 1999, at Concordia Hospital. She has gone to join Pat who predeceased her in April, 1998. We know they will guide us and watch over us always. Ollie was born near Pine River, MB on February 6, 1926. She married Helary Basaraba on February 18, 1949 and together they raised their family and were involved in their community. After living in Dauphin, MB for a short time, the family moved to Winnipeg where they made their home and enjoyed active lives. Ollie lived a very full and rewarding life. She enjoyed working in her garden, baking and visiting at the Gimli Cabana. Ollie had a very strong spirit, full of tenacity and determination. She loved life to the fullest and always had a good time wherever she went and with whomever she was with. Her children and all who knew her always spoke of her friendliness and warm-hearted manner. She was a great role model and an inspiration to many. Ollie will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by her four children, Bob (Gayle) Basaraba, Barb (Jim) Laychuk, Cathy and Kip. She will also be missed by her three grandchildren, Tim, Tyler and Ryan, whom she loved to spoil at every possible chance. Ollie will also be remembered by her many friends and relatives, especially Taras and Celia, Nestor and Nettie, the Gimli Girls, Gord, and Lil. The family extends sincere appreciation to the staff at Concordia Hospital who treated our mother with kindness and professionalism. Prayers will be held on Friday, October 29 at 7:00 p.m., and funeral services will commence at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, October 30 at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main St., Winnipeg, MB. In lieu of flowers, donations in Ollies memory may be made to the Canadian National Institute for the Blind, Manitoba Division, 1080 Portage Ave., Winnipeg, MB R3G 3M3. Well love you forever, and miss you very much. Cropo Funeral Chapel in care of arrangements, 586-8044.
