RAYMOND F. WILSON It is with great sadness the family of Ray Wilson announce his passing on October 27, 1999 at St. Boniface Hospital after a courageous battle with cancer. Ray was born on April 16, 1931 in Treherne Manitoba. He was predeceased by his parents, Ferg and Edith Wilson of Treherne. Ray is survived by his wife of 42 years, Frieda; daughter Kendra; son Kevin (daughter in law Denise) daughter Stacey; and grandchildren, Jason, Nick, Cory, Lee, Myranda and Ryan. Ray was born and brought up in Treherne, Manitoba and later moved to Red Lake Ontario in 1949 with his parents. He joined the Canadian Air Force in 1950 and served in England, France and Germany. He also served overseas with the 427 Fighter Squadron. He returned to Canada in 1955 and was stationed at Namao, Alberta, then to Goose Bay Labrador, then RCAF Station Winnipeg. Retiring from the RCAF in 1974 he then joined Consumer and Corporate Affairs Canada and retired in 1995. The family wishes to thank the staff on 5A St. Boniface Hospital, especially nurses Patrick and Tanya and also the Palliative Care staff. A special thank you to Dr. Garcia, Dr. Harlos and Dr. Angus McGowan for his many years of care. A very special thank you to all of our neighbours especially Pat and Gord Cole and Mark and Pat Owens. Memorial Service will be held 3:00 p.m. Monday, November 1, at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, 4000 Portage Avenue with Father Gerry Ward officiating. Interment will follow at Assumption Cemetery. A gathering of family and friends to follow at Chapel Lawn Reception Centre. In lieu of flowers if friends so desire, donations can be made to Canadian Cancer Society, 193 Sherbrook Street, R3C 2B7.
