GEORGE RAYBURN (RAY) CHRISTIE 1914 - 1999 George Rayburn (Ray) Christie passed away suddenly but peacefully on October 22, 1999 at the University of B.C. Hospital at the age of 85. He will be lovingly remembered by his wife Dora (Queenie) his daughter Robin Wenham; son Richard (Maureen) and grandchildren, Andrea and Rebecca; along with numerous family and friends. Born and raised in Winnipeg, MB, Ray brought his wife Queenie and family to Vancouver in 1951 where he worked in the printing business for many years. A quiet and kind man with varied interests and talents, Ray will be remembered as a professional photographer, keen tennis player and avid musician, loving to play his guitar at gigs and jam sessions. He also spent many happy hours with his woodworking, gardening and breadmaking. At Rays request, no funeral or memorial service will be held. Instead, there will be a reception for family and friends at the family home on Sunday, October 31 from 1:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation.
