Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryELIZABETH STECY Peacefully, on October 28, 1999, after a long and courageous battle with cancer, Elizabeth Stecy passed away at her home with her son Rick; daughter-in-law Lou and a very close friend Denise by her side. Mom was predeceased by her loving husband Harry on March 16, 1974; her parents, Mary and Peter Sherman; brother Tommy; sisters, Jessie, Rose and Clara; brothers-in-law, Robert Gutray of Toronto and Len Haines of Winnipeg. Mom leaves to mourn her passing; her loving son Rick and his wife Lou. She will be lovingly remembered by her sister Molly Gutray of Toronto, Peter Sherman and sister-in-law Del of Oak Bluff; sister Jean and brother-in-law Jack Dierckens of Winnipeg and brother-in-law George Havranek of Milwaukee; also many nieces, nephews and good friends. Mom will also be lovingly missed by her in-laws, Steve Stecy, Kay Bamburak, Nellie Diduch, Julia Stecy, Nick Stecy, Bill and Anne Stecy, Olga Wilgosh, Stella and Peter Skochylas (all of Winnipeg), Pauline Demshar in Toronto; also many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews. Mom, you were such a beautiful, kind and loving person. During our years together I cherished every moment we had together. I will miss our meals together watching T.V. and our late nights together watching movies. My mother loved going out for rides in the country and enjoying nature. She loved going shopping for groceries and clothes. Mom loved meeting people and people loved her. She loved her yard and garden. I will miss the unconditional love that you always gave me throughout your life. A viewing will be held on Sunday, October 31 from 2:00 - 4:00 p.m. at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main Street. Divine Liturgy will be celebrated on Monday, November 1 at 10:00 a.m. at St. John the Apostle Ukrainian Catholic Church, 31 Riel Ave. with Rev.. Fr. Ivan Mostivsky officiating. Interment to follow in The Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary Cemetery. Pallbearers will be: Ron Stecy, Stan Grysiuk, Tony Skochylas, Roger Bamburak, Lawrence Stupera and Jerry Diduch. Honorary pallbearers will be: Leonard Wilgosh and Carlyle Hoffman. A "Thank you" to Riverview Health Centre, Palliative Program, V.O.N. Program and "Myrna" and caregivers from St. Pierre and Osborne St. Home Care Programs. A Special "Thank you" to Grace Hospital, 3 South, Oncology Department, Dr. Pat Harris and Dr. Barbara Cenkowski and Dr. Stevens, Denise Cowan (Home Care, St. Pierre), Rose, the past co-ordinator of Home Care (St. Pierre) and a very special "Thank you" to Ron and Pat Stecy for assisting my wife and I in preparing funeral arrangements. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Elizabeths memory to the Manitoba Cancer Treatment Foundation, 100 Olivia St., Winnipeg, R3E 9Z9.
