MICHAEL STONYK 1922 - 1999 It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Michael Stonyk, husband, father and grandfather at the age of 76. He is survived by his loving wife of 53 years; Helen (nee Bednar) his sons, Richard (Karen), Brian (Bonnie), and Ken. He is also lovingly remembered by his grandchildren; Mark, Pamela, Michael, and Nicole (Ryan) Klassen. Michael is also survived by his sister Jean Hein. He was predeceased by his parents and his sisters Francis Wladyka and on October 30, 1999 his sister Minnie Smilinski. Michaels artistic gifts were noticed early as he attended Isaac Newton, Kelvin, and the Winnipeg School of Art. He began his career as a commercial artist, and he apprenticed as a lithographer. He was a fine craftsman and pioneered many innovations in the graphic arts. Michael was employed in many supervisory positions with leading printing companies in Winnipeg, Toronto, and Buffalo, N.Y. Michael achieved his lifetime dream of founding his own company, Aldine Graphic Photographers which family members participated in. He made many friends with fellow proprietors, salesmen, suppliers, and graphic designers in the printing trade. Michaels generosity benefited many individuals and businesses during his lifetime. He was liberal with his wide technical knowledge, advice, finances, and employment opportunities. In retirement, Dad was most pleased to spend time with his children and grandchildren. Family dinners, visits and hearing of the accomplishments of his growing family were the highlights of his day. As joyous milestone in his life was the celebration of his 50th wedding anniversary with his beloved wife Helen, surrounded by treasured friends and family. The family would like to thank the medical staff of the Grace Hospital, especially the Emergency unit that cared for Dad on numerous occasions during his final illness. Funeral service will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Tuesday, November 2 with viewing commencing at 2:30 p.m. at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, 4000 Portage Ave. Interment and reception to follow. In lieu of flowers, remembrances of Michael may be made to the charity of your choice. VICHNAYA PAMYAT Arrangements entrusted to: CHAPEL LAWN FUNERAL HOME CEMETERY AND CREMATORIUM 885-9715
