Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryEDITH MASON It is with great sadness that the family announces the death of our mother and grandmother, Edith Mason (nee Meakin) on October 30, 1999 at the St. Boniface Hospital. She was born in Winnipeg on April 25, 1914 to Fred and Lily Meakin. She received her education in Winnipeg and after leaving school worked for the T. Eaton Company. In 1938, Edith married Vic Mason and moved to the Argyle district where they farmed for 35 years. Vic and Edith retired from the farm in 1973 and moved to Warren where they resided until 1992. From there they moved to Stonewood Place in Stonewall. Left to cherish her memory is her son Jim, wife Maureen and grandson Shaun of Port Moody, B.C. She will be sadly missed by her brothers, Len (Amanda), Arthur (Dot), Fred (Jean), all of Winnipeg; sisters-in-law, Effie Mason of Stonewall and Edith Mason of Flin Flon, as well as many nieces and nephews. Edith was predeceased by her husband Vic in September, 1993 and brother Wilfred in January, 1978. Edith will be fondly remembered for her positive and straight forward attitude toward life. Over the years, her door was always open at any time for her many friends to drop in for a visit. A memorial service will be held on Thursday, November 4, at 1:00 p.m. in the MacKenzie Funeral Chapel, Stonewall. Rev. J. Miles will officiate. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Stonewall and District Health Foundation, 601-3rd Ave. South, Stonewall, R0C 2Z0 or to the C.N.I.B., 1080 Portage Ave., Winnipeg, R3G 3M3. MacKenzie Funeral Home, Stonewall in care of arrangements.
