Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryERIC SAMULAITIS Suddenly on Saturday, October 30, 1999 at his residence, Eric Samulaitis passed away. Eric was predeceased by his father Anthony Samulaitis; aunt Pauline Malaske and uncle Charles Maleske. Eric will be lovingly remembered by his son Tony (Paula) grandson Tyler; daughter Leona (Shane) Esau and Erica (Jay) Smethurst; mother Lionija (Leona) brother Ernest (Lillianne) Samulaitis and nephews, Jason and Jordan. Eric was born on May 27, 1929 in Winnipeg at St. Josephs Hospital. He served with the Canadian Armed Forces from 1954 to 1979. During this time he earned the United Nations Emergency Force Medal Middle East and the Canadian Forces Decoration and Clasp. From 1979 to 1989 Eric worked with the Armed Forces as a civilian Auditor. He greatly enjoyed all sports and was an active curler and golfer. Eric was very proud of his grandson Tyler. Prayers will be said on Thursday, November 4 at 7:00 p.m. at the Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, 4000 Portage Avenue. Mass of the Christian Burial will be held on Friday, November 5 at 10 a.m. at St. Casimirs Roman Catholic Church, 432 Elgin Avenue. Interment will take place at Assumption Cemetery followed by a gathering of friends and family at the Chapel Lawn Reception Centre. In lieu of flowers, if friends so desire, donations may be made to Manitoba Heart and Stroke Foundation, 301 - 352 Donald St., R3B 2H8 or the Canadian Cancer Society, 193 Sherbrook St., R3C 2B7.
