Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryESTHER MILDRED SIDDORN (nee QUANTROM) Esther Siddorn passed away suddenly on Saturday, October 30, 1999, at age 90. Esther was born in Carnduff, Saskatchewan to Eddie and Mina Quanstrom on February 1, 1909. She completed her schooling in Carnduff, entered nursing school and graduated from the Brandon General Hospital as a registered nurse. She nursed where needed in the Carnduff area until the Quanstrom family moved to Dufresne, Manitoba in 1934. She nursed in the Winnipeg area and married John Desmond Siddorn in 1936. She continued working, eventually opening St. Augustine Nursing Home which she operated until her retirement in 1975. Nursing and caring for others was Esthers mission in life. She will be lovingly remembered by her son Dwight and daughter-in-law Norma of Calgary; daughter-in-law Mavis McCaulley of Oregon; eight grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; one sister, Charlotte Quanstrom; and nephew and nieces. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her husband John in 1960; her son Shaen in 1987; her brother Carl Quanstrom, 1996; her sisters, Caroline Leighton, 1995 and Pearl Crayston,1993. Memorial service will be held in Thomson Funeral Chapels, 669 Broadway on Thursday, November 4 at 10:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, if you wish, please donate to a charity of your choice.
