Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryMINNIE SMILINSKI On October 30, 1999 at 2:30 a.m. after a one month battle with lung cancer, Minnie Smilinski passed away at the age of 69 years. Due to the rapid progression of the disease, it was Minnies brave decision to decline any cancer therapy. She is survived by son Michael (Charlyne) of Vanderhoof, B.C.; son Johnnie; granddaughters, Britt and Zoe of Vanderhoof and sister Jean Hein of The Pas, Manitoba. Minnie was predeceased by her husband John in 1984, sister Frances Wladyka in 1991 and brother Michael Stonyk on October 29, 1999 at 2:00 a.m. Some of Minnies special interests were bowling, golfing, crib parties, and solving the Free Press Jumbles with her Jumble buddy. Special thanks to the Seven Oaks General Hospital staff of fifth floor, Unit 7 and Unit 2 for trying to keep Moms suffering to a minimum. Cremation has already taken place, and at Moms request a memorial will be held in the spring/summer of next year. If friends so desire, donations may be made in Minnies memory, to the Seven Oaks General Hospital Foundation, 2300 McPhillips Street, Winnipeg, R2V 3M3.
