PETER F. KLASSEN Peacefully on October 26, 1999 at the Bethesda Hospital, Steinbach, Man., Peter F. Klassen of Grunthal, Man., passed away at the age of 83 years. The funeral service will be held on Wednesday, November 3 at the Grunthal Elim Church at 2:00 p.m. with Pastors, Herb Frantz and Nick Janz officiating. Interment to follow in the Grunthal Cemetery. Public viewing is on Tuesday night, November 2 at Birchwood Funeral Chapel, 150 Penfeld Dr., Steinbach from 7:00 - 8:00 p.m. Our father was born in Old Barkfield, Man. on July 20, 1916. In 1927, our father, together with his parents, Peter T. and Maria Klassen and seven siblings moved to Paraguay, settling near Halbstadt. Even though our father experienced difficult pioneer years, he didnt lack Gods blessings. On October 20, 1938, he married Anna Kauenhowen. They lived in Halbstadt and Edenthal and were blessed with eight children. In 1961, our parents wish came true, and they moved back to their homeland, to settle in Grunthal, Manitoba. Father worked for 20 years at Medo-Land Cheese Factory until his retirement. In December, 1994 he moved to the Grunthal Menno Home. He was predeceased by his loving wife Anna on June 9, 1999 and son Walter, 1971. He leaves to mourn his passing his son Abram and family, Paraguay; daughter Anna and family in Surrey, B.C., daughter Mary in Winnipeg, daughter Nettie and family in Winnipeg; son John and family in Winnipeg, son Tony and family in Edmonton, Alta., daughter Pauline and family in Winnipeg; 18 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; four sisters, Maria Harder, Tina Wiebe, Agatha Klassen and Anna Giesbrecht in Winnipeg; two sisters-in-law, Barbara Kauenhowen in Winnipeg, Tina Klassen in Paraguay and one brother-in-law Johann Giesbrecht in Winnipeg. Dad, you have fought a very difficult fight. We as your children and family will miss you very much. Rest in Peace, Dad and Opa Your Children and Grandchildren.
