Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryEDWARD KOSTELNIAK Peacefully, with his family by his side, our beloved husband, father and gee-gee passed away into our Fathers loving arms on Sunday, October 31, 1999 at the St. Boniface General Hospital. He was predeceased by his mother Norah (Skwarek) in 1964 and father Leon Kostelniak in 1973. He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Nettie (Komar) son Wayne, daughter Carol; grandchildren, Janet, Michael, Vickey, and David; by his sister Jean (Albert) Wilson of Toronto, brother Frank (Oresta) Kostelniak of Winnipeg, brother Charles Kostelniak of Winnipeg, sister Ann (Victor) Nitchie of Petersfield; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends. Dad was born January 1, 1913 in Melnice, MB. His early years were spent on the farm. He attended school in Melnice, at Teulon High School and graduated with a diploma from the technical school in Windsor, ON. Mom and Dad moved to Winnipeg in 1943 where Dad spent 35 years employed with Canada Packers as a millwright until his retirement in 1978. He was a longtime member of Sts. Peter and Paul Ukrainian Catholic Church in St. Boniface. Gee-gee loved anything with a motor and spent many happy times at the cottage in the garden. He was very proud of and loved all of his grandchildren. Prayer service will be held on Thursday, November 4 at 7:30 p.m. at Desjardins Funeral Chapel, 357 Des Meurons St. Funeral mass will be celebrated on Friday, November 5 at 10:00 a.m. at the Sts. Peter and Paul Ukrainian Catholic Church, 290 Marion St. with Fr. John Mostivsky presiding. Interment to follow in the St. Boniface Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Ron Pawluk, Barry Pawluk, Bob Sparling, Miles Nitchie, Michael Kostelniak and David Reichert. Honourary cross bearer will be Gary Ferris. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Heart & Stroke Foundation, 301-352 Donald St., Winnipeg, MB R3B 2H8. You were always there for us whenever we needed you and you will always have a special place in our hearts.
