Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryJESSIE CHRISTIE EVERSON (nee BISSET) On Monday, November 1, 1999 at Concordia Hospital, Jessie Everson, of Winnipeg died at the age of 90 years. Jessie was born in Morden, MB, on November 30, 1908, and received her schooling in Thornhill, MB. She began nurses training at the Misericordia Nurses Hospital in 1930, graduating in 1933 where she received the Gold Medal for General Proficiency. Jessie served as a private duty nurse for three years. On December 28, 1936 she married Maurice Rosswell Everson. After they married, she travelled with Maurices job until 1941, when they moved to Seven Sisters Falls. She worked at the Whitemouth Hospital part time and in 1961, joined permanent staff as Nursing Administrator, until she retired in 1974. In 1976 she moved to Winnipeg, where she resided until her passing. Jessie was predeceased by her husband Maurice, a sister and two brothers, and several nieces and nephews. Left to mourn her are nephews, Harvey Beckel and friend Pauline, Ross (June) Beckel; nieces, Emily (Ralph) Wicklund of Toronto, Byrdye Beckel, Agnes Bisset; and a wealth of treasured friends. Special thanks to the second floor nursing staff at Concordia Hospital, especially Sandy and Loryn. Jessie touched the lives of many people during her life, and will be remembered for her caring and compassionate nature. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Jessies memory to the Canadian Cancer Society, 193 Sherbrook St., Winnipeg, MB R3C 9Z9. A memorial service will be held on Friday, November 5 at 1:00 p.m. at Klassen Funeral Chapel, 1897 Henderson Hwy., with Chaplain Rosalie Loeppky officiating. Interment of ashes to follow in Garry Memorial Gardens. Please hold her in your arms And treasure her with care, Make up for all she suffered And all she had to bear. Please whisper in her ear In case she didnt hear, How much we truly love her And wish she was still here. We will miss you Jessie. Arrangements entrusted to Klassen Funeral Chapel, 338-0331.
