B. GLEN DODDS Peacefully on November 2, 1999 at the Victoria Hospital, at age 72. He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Nell; his sons, George and Graham; his daughter Julie and son-in-law Brian Munro; and grandson Callum. He is also survived by his dear niece and nephew Patricia and Lloyd Eckensviller, and their family. He was predeceased by his mother Dell in 1994, and his father Dr. George C. in 1964. Glen was born on November 11, 1926 and raised in Winnipeg, where he attended Daniel McIntyre High School. In his diverse career, he held positions with Lever Bros. in Toronto in his early married life, and later in Winnipeg with Inter-Provincial Cooperatives, the Health Sciences Centre, and the Province of Manitoba. He served in the army in the final months of the Second World War. The family would like to thank the staff of the Victoria Hospital fifth floor, and Drs. Sharkey and Maxwell, for their kindness and support. Flowers are gratefully declined. In keeping with Glens request, no formal funeral service will be held. Friends and family are invited to a gathering on Saturday, November 6, between 1:30 and 3:30 p.m., at the Wildewood Club, 761 North Drive. One of Glens favourite poems, and a fitting one at this time, was Tennysons Crossing the Bar. Crossing the Bar Sunset and evening star, And one clear call for me! And may there be no moaning of the bar, When I put out to sea, But such a tide as moving seems asleep, Too full for sound and foam, When that which drew from out the boundless deep Turns again home. Twilight and evening bell, And after that the dark! And may there be no sadness of farewell, When I embark; For tho from out our bourne of Time and Place The flood may bear me far, I hope to see my Pilot face to face When I have crost the bar. -- Alfred, Lord Tennyson, 1889
