MARY GENYK Peacefully, on November 2, 1999 after a lengthy illness, Mary Genyk, aged 74 years, passed away at the St. Boniface General Hospital. Predeceased by her husband Peter of 46 years in 1993. Mom leaves to cherish her memory, her three children, Larry, Christine (Fred), Randy (Linda). Four cherished grandchildren, Derrick (Irena), Jennifer, Ryan and Ashleigh. Mom was raised in a family of ten children. Predeceased by one brother, Steve in 1997. Survived by sisters, Annie Hnatiuk, Pearl Persowich of Winnipeg, Kay (Bud) Husak, Olga (Harry) Malcowich, Nellie (Bob) Smith of Fisher Branch, MB. Brothers, Joe (Marilyn) Hnatiuk of Winnipeg, John Hnatiuk, Peter (Mildred) Hnatiuk of Fisher Branch. Also survived by numerous nieces and nephews, and her two favourite walking companions, Caileigh and Brittany. The family wish to express thanks to Dr. Verrelli and the Peritoneal Dialysis Unit for successfully giving Mom two years of quality life after being diagnosed with renal failure in 1997. Thanks to the doctors, nurses and support staff on 5B Medicine, the Hemodialysis Unit and the Palliative Care Unit. Thank you to Rev. Pat Wotton and Pastoral Care Worker Timothy Fenlon for helping us through this difficult time. Funeral service will be held on Saturday, November 6 at 10:00 a.m. at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, 4000 Portage Ave., with Rev. Pat Wotton officiating. Special thanks to Moms sister, our Aunt Pearl for her ever constant concern and being Moms dialysis Buddy. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Moms memory to either the Dialysis Unit Fund #9340 or the Palliative Care Unit, St. Boniface General Hospital, 409 Tache Ave. Winnipeg, MB R2H 2A6. We have shared a long journey At the end you went alone You are now at peace In the arms of an angel. We love you Mom, Baba Fond memories will live with us Til we meet again.
