SHIRLEY VERMETTE (nee CALVERLEY) After a brief illness Shirley Vermette passed away peacefully, with her family by her side, at the Victoria Hospital. She was predeceased by her parents, Anson and Emily Calverley; her sisters and brothers-in-law, Joyce (Charlie) Say and Eileen (Ellis) Grierson. She will be lovingly remembered by her husband Roland; daughter Sandra, as well as numerous in-laws, nieces, nephews and cherished Godchildren. Shirley was a very special person who loved her family dearly. Her mother was a special person in her life and they were very close. She loved her flower garden and enjoyed doing her Petit Point. Mom was a hard worker who worked her entire life in many occupations including the hotel and clothing industries and, most recently, working with her daughter Sandra in her restaurant. Memorial service will be held 10:00 a.m., Monday, November 8 at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, 4000 Portage Ave. Interment to follow in Chapel Lawn Memorial Gardens. A gathering of family and friends will follow in the Chapel Lawn Reception Centre. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation, 301-352 Donald Street, Winnipeg, R3B 2H8, or the Humane Society, 5 Kent Road, Winnipeg, R2L 1X3.
