Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryRUSSELL JAMES CAMPBELL It is with heavy hearts and great sadness that we announce the passing of our husband, father and grandfather on Thursday, November 4, 1999. Russ was born on June 22, 1934 in Star City, Sask. He will be lovingly remembered by his wife and best friend Joyce; daughter Kim (Rick) granddaughters, Andrea and Ashlee of Stony Mountain; step-granddaughters, Christyn and Brenley of Winnipeg; foster son Tim (Debbie) Freedy and children, Tyler, Chantel and Jessica of Point du Bois. Russ will be dearly missed by his brother Ron (Beth) of Revelstoke; sisters, Joan Sinclair, Laverne (Maurice) brother Ken (Della) of Stony Mountain; sister-in-law Gail (Clarence) Voss of Teulon, Man. Russ will also be remembered by many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents, Myrtle and Earl Campbell; brother Stan; in-laws, Alex and Ethel Sutherland; brothers-in-law, Alan Sutherland and Jim Sinclair. On August 30, 1958 Russ married Joyce and enjoyed 41 years together. He was deeply proud of his only daughter Kim and cherished their relationship. The "Girls" in his life were very important to him. Russ was a very caring person, hard worker and respected and admired by those who knew him. He was always ready to give a helping hand. Russ worked as a diesel mechanic most of his life. The years that he owned Riverdale Tourist Camp were very special as he made a great many friends. He always had a dream to own his own farm. That became a reality in 1994 when he moved to Teulon and he had his cattle. He enjoyed this until this past summer. Russ loved to travel and his favourite spot was Hawaii. He will be remembered for his endurance, courage and strength in the past few years. Our thanks to family and friends who have given their care and strength during our difficult time. Thank you to the staff in Oncology and 4 West nursing at the Grace Hospital, Dr. Harris, Dr. W. Van Horne for the compassion that we received. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Oncology Department of the Grace Hospital, Winnipeg. In compliance with Russs wishes, cremation has taken place and a memorial service will be held on Monday, November 8 at 11:00 a.m. in the Stony Mountain United Church, Rev. Dr. S. Wilson will officiate. Private family interment at a later date. Russ will be remembered for being a wonderful husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend.
