ERIC DAVID REFVIK It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Eric David Refvik on November 4, 1999. He is survived by his wife Rhona; his children, Mira and Rebecca; his mother Isabelle; his father Orval (Tachie) his brother Brad (Clare) and family; his sister Shelley (Jerry) and family; and many loyal and true friends. Erics positive outlook and love of life was inspirational to all who met him. Eric loved and was loved by his wonderful friends. He had a passion for sports, a thirst for knowledge, was a dedicated worker and carried within him an inner strength that enabled him to face lifes challenges in a positive manner. Erics family was of utmost importance to him. More than anything, his love for Rhona, Mira and Rebecca made him a wonderful husband and father. He will be lovingly remembered and sadly missed. The funeral services will be held at Beth Israel Synagogue, 1007 Sinclair St., on Sunday, November 7 at 3:30 p.m. Internment to follow at Hebrew Sick Benefit Cemetery. Condolences & Memories (2 entries)

  • Eric was an extraordinary man - only now, with the hindsight provided by the passing years and my own health struggles, do I realize the courage and amazing cheerfulness Eric brought to his unique challenges. He battled painful and debilitating rheumatoid arthritis all his life, and yet his unfailing pluck and genial, good-natured personality belied his serious affliction. One can’t describe all of Eric’s stellar qualities without veering into seeming treacly cliches - suffice it to say, he was a wonderful guy, a pleasure to know and a friend to all. He made the world brighter and we grieve his loss - I always remember him with wonderment, and a smile. Thanks, Eric, until we meet again…. - Posted by: Peter Friend (Friend to Eric, Shelley and Brad) on: Jul 08, 2021

  • Eric was a wonderful person. We were friends in high school. A bunch of us played football together on the weekends. Eric was a great receiver. Ten yards up the middle, turn around - guaranteed catch every time. Eric worked as a gas station attendant during high school. To his amusement, many customers thought that he was making fun of them because he was so friendly. Eric was always friendly, always caring and always spirited. Although we lost touch after school, I have many warm memories of Eric and will always wish he hadn't left us so soon. - Posted by: Paul McLennan (Friend) on: Nov 11, 2005
