JAMES MARTEL It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of James Allan Martel, on Friday November 5, 1999 at the Misericordia Hospital at the age of 71 years. He will be lovingly remembered by his wife Margaret; sons, Terry (Gisele), Glen (Myra) daughters, Cheryl and Debra; and seven grandchildren, Nicholas, Renee, Vincent, Lena, Jason, Lucas and Sasha. He is also remembered by his brothers and sisters, Lorrie (John) Riel, Elsie (Gerry) Bessette, Doris (Jim) Rivers, Freda Wilson, Walter Martel, Raymond (Sonia) Martel, Rosemarie Johnston; sister-in-law Phyllis Martel; numerous nieces and nephews, other relatives and many friends. He was predeceased by his son Gary; his parents, Abraham and Philomene Martel; brothers, Steven, Nelson and Stanley; brother-in-law Neil Wilson; and sister-in-law Doris Martel. Al was an honourary member of the Royal Canadian Legion. He was a hard working, caring, generous man who touched the lives of many and will be dearly missed. Funeral mass will be celebrated on Wednesday, November 10 at 10:30 a.m. at the St. Vital Catholic Church, 1629 Pembina Hwy. Viewing will be prior to the service at 10:00 a.m. Pallbearers will be Andrew Shultz, Robert Johnston, David Johnston, Tom Johnston, Steve Pochaila and Wendell McCance. If friends so desire, donations may be made in his honour to the Canadian Cancer Society, 193 Sherbrook St., Winnipeg, MB, R3C 2B7.
