LORINA MARSCH Lorina Marsch went home to be with her Lord on November 7, 1999. Lorina was born in Coaldale, Alberta to Henry and Cornelia Hubert on October 9, 1930 as the 3rd of 5 children. She attended Alberta Mennonite High School and Coaldale Bible School before marrying Roland Marsch on June 23, 1962. While living in Winnipeg, where Roland was studying, their first two children were born. Their youngest was born during their first church ministry in Grassy Lake. They enjoyed 12 years of fruitful ministry in Neuwied, Germany before returning to Winnipeg in 1979 to pastor the North Kildonan Mennonite Brethren Church until 1986. Lorina graduated from Mennonite Brethren Bible College in 1988. From 1989 to 1997 she was editor of the Mennonitische Rundschau. In 1997 they accepted a call to pastor a fledgling church in Dresden, Germany where Lorina was diagnosed with a brain tumor. With a deep peace, she accepted her illness and passed away peacefully at the Riverview Health Centre. Lorina will be missed by her husband Roland; Robert and Hilde Marsch with Amanda and Tiffany of Winnipeg, Susan and Walter Jakobeit with Paul, Kevin, Corinna and Steven of Neuwied, Germany, and Judy and Peter von Kampen with Thea, Trevor and Matthew of High River, Alta. Also grieving her loss are her brother Henry and Erna Hubery of Vineland, Ont., brother John and Dorothy Hubert of Winnipeg, sister Elvira Hubert of Coaldale, Alta., and all of Rolands family in Germany. Lorina is predeceased by her parents and sister Erna. We wish to thank the caregivers of Riverview Health Centre and the many relatives and friends. Services will be held on Friday, November 12 at 1:00 p.m. at the Portage Avenue Mennonite Brethren Church, 1420 Portage Ave., with Pastor Abe Konrad, Dr. George Shillington, Pastor Claude Pratte and Pastor Herb Kopp officiating. Interment in Mennonite Memorial Gardens. Arrangements entrusted to Klassen Funeral Chapel, 338-0331.
