DR. PETER JOHN PALASCHUK It is with profound sorrow that we announce the passing of Dr. Peter John Palaschuk on November 4, 1999. His sons, Dr. Greg (Lesia), Dr. Robert (Nadine) and Peter (Julie) will sadly miss him. He also leaves to mourn Shirlie and her daughter Rae; his grandchildren, Alexa, Christian, Nicholas and Andris as well as his sister Anne Wakulich and family. He was predeceased by his mother Mary and his father John. Dr. Peter Palaschuk was born in the village of Novo-Rachyn, Ukraine on July 29, 1930, and as a young boy he immigrated with his family to Canada, settling initially in Wishart, Saskatchewan. After farming for a number of years, the family moved to Toronto, where Peter persued his education and graduated from the Canadian Memorial Chiropractic College in 1953. Following his graduation he moved to Winnipeg, and for the next forty years, he applied his gifted chiropractic skills to his many dedicated patients from Manitoba. Dr. Peter Palaschuk was also devoted to his profession and was elected as president of the Manitoba Chiropractors Association, as director of the board of the Canadian Memorial Chiropractic College in addition to many other board and committee positions during his lifelong career. Dr. Peter Palaschuks dedication and commitment extended beyond the practice of chiropractic to his roots in the Ukrainian culture and Orthodox faith where he also sat on numerous board positions. With the help of Lillian Palaschuk, he was responsible for instilling love of the Ukrainian culture and faith into his children as well as seeing them flourish. After having the opportunity of practicing chiropractic with his sons, Dr. Greg and Dr. Robert, Dr. Peter Palaschuk retired and formed a partnership with his son Peter Jr. Together they developed Arctic Aquaforms and Garson Sportfishing Park. We thank God for blessing us with a man of such tremendous strength and spirit. He will live forever in our memories and in our hearts. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Holy Trinity Ukrainian Orthodox Cathedral, 1175 Main Street, Winnipeg, MB R2W 3S4, or to the Canadian Memorial Chiropractic College, 1900 Bayview Ave., Toronto, ON, M4G 3E6.
