BRUCE K. PELL After a long life, filled with laughter and happy memories, Bruce Pell passed away on November 7, 1999. He was 73 years of age. He was a kind, gentle, loving husband, father and grandfather. He will be lovingly remembered by his best friend, and wife of 51 years, Betty; his children, Gary and Kim Pell, Laura and Ron Weston, and Dianne and Kevin Jeffrey; and his seven cherished grandchildren, Gavin, Allison and Darren Pell, Phillip and Christine Weston, and Tyson and Kyla Jeffrey. Bruce will be missed by his many special, life long friends from his years in Baseball, High School and University, as a Chartered Accountant, at Elmhurst Golf and Country Club, and from his winter home in Pharr, Texas. Bruce was born in Winnipeg in 1925. Bruce and Betty were married in 1948 and have resided in St. Vital since 1956. Bruce was a talented pitcher and played for the Rosedale Junior Ball Club, and the St. Boniface Native Sons. He earned his Chartered Accountancy degree in 1949 and practiced until his retirement in 1990. He was a member of St. Vital United Church for many years. He spent many hours on the curling rink at St. Vital Curling Club and even more time on the golf course. Bruce generously gave of his time to many community organizations. But most important to Bruce was his family. Many wonderful summers were spent at the cottage at Big Whiteshell Lake. He loved to spend time with his children and grandchildren. Many hours were spent playing games, talking and laughing. Bruce will be remembered for his caring, gentle nature, his honesty, his sense of humour and his incredible loyalty to family and friends. We have all enjoyed a good discussion with Bruce, one of his favourite pastimes. Our memories of Bruce make us smile and laugh, and we will cherish these forever. A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, November 10 at 11:00 a.m. in St. Vital United Church, 937 St. Marys Rd. Special thanks to Dr. D. Young, Dr. I. Maxwell, nurse Ann Anderson and our special nurse Helen McKenzie.
