WALTER CHABLUK Walter Chabluk of Winnipeg passed away suddenly on November 8, 1999. Walter was predeceased by his parents, Nicholas and Nellie. He is survived by his sister Steffie (Kas) brother Russel (Sandy) children, Janie Oliver (Bryan), Bonnie Sawka (Warren), Robin (Rick) Chabluk, Jenny Peterson; grandchildren, Michelle, Nicole, Alexander, Meghan, Brandi, Lee-Ann, Michael, Kadie; great-granddaughter Madison and numerous nephews and nieces and missed by Carole and Bernice. Walter was born December 2, 1935 and grew up in Cooks Creek, MB. As a boy, he attended Zora school and worked the family farm, this being one of the favorite times of his life. He went to work at the Bay when he was 17, and worked there as a furniture refinisher (and a damn good one) till the Bay Warehouse closed. Afterwards, he was self-employed until his death. Our father was a gentle loving soul whose essence touched all those who knew him. As children growing up, dad was always there to lend an ear and helping hand. His live and support was of great comfort to us. Dad was an avid Bomber fan and our game rituals and dads antics will be greatly missed. Funeral service will be held Thursday, November 11 at 7:30 p.m. in the chapel of the Glen Eden Funeral Home, 4477 Main St. with viewing one half hour prior to the service. Donations in Walters memory may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of MB, 301-352 Donald St., Winnipeg, MB R3B 2H8. The family would like to extend a heart-felt thank you to his good friend John Reis whose friendship meant a great deal to dad. Arrangements entrusted to: GLEN EDEN FUNERAL HOME 4477 MAIN STREET 338-7111
